White Tigers Decimate at
USNTF International Tournament
White Tiger was in for a long weekend as the first night consisted of a grueling blackbelt testing in Koryo Gumdo,
and Hapkido.  Those participating in the testing consisted of Master Shawn Love, Mister Mark Ward, Mrs. Jennifer
Love, and Mrs. LeAnna Setzkorn.

Shawn Love received his 2nd Degree Blackbelt, and Ward received his 1st Degree Blackbelt in Koryo Gumdo
(Korean Sword Art).  Shawn Love, Jennifer Love and LeAnna Setzkorn tested for their 1st Degree Blackbelts in
Hapkido.

Friday consisted of Koryo Gumdo and Hapkido competition.  Brandon Lee Love competed in the Brown Belt
category in Gumdo.  Jennifer Love competed in the Purple Belt category in Gumdo.  And in a surprising move,
Rochelle Bloyer competed in the Red Belt category in Gumdo.  Rochelle injured her knee in a testing in June, and
she had a real battle with rehabilitating her knee.  She was not able to fight, but she dropped down a form and was
able to compete.  Jennifer Love and LeAnna Setzkorn competed in the Hapkido division.

Jennifer Love had an outstanding match as she won 12-2 and decimated her opponent for 1st place.  Her sword
form was equally impressive as she placed 1st in her division.  Brandon Love received a 2nd place medal for a well
fought battle for 1st place.  Bloyer missed a few steps but earned a well-deserving 2nd place medal beating even
some of the men in her division.  Jennifer Love and LeAnna Setzkorn took 2nd place in the Hapkido competition.

Saturday started the Taekwondo Tournament where Brandon Love was the only participant as he was the only one
under the age of 14.  Brandon competed in the 1st Degree Blackbelt division.  Brandon lost his first match 3-0
placing him in 3rd place.  Brandon had just as much competition in his forms as he fought for a well-deserved 3rd
place.

Sunday consisted of all the 14 and older.  Those competing included Jennifer Love competing in the 2nd Degree
Blackbelt division.  Jonathan Irvin and Brittney Jirak competed in the Blackbelt division.  Steve Moss competed in the
red belt division.  LeAnna Setzkorn competed in creative forms in the blackbelt division.

Jennifer Love competed in her forms division and placed 1st granting her the opportunity to compete for Grand-
Champion.  Jennifer took this medal also as she beat 4 others vying for the title.  Jennifer then competed for the
World Champion as she competed against three others.  This one eluded her as she made one mistake and it cost
her what would have bee a 14K ring.

“She had it in the bag,” stated Shaw Love.  “All she had to do was to complete the form and when she turned she
did the wrong move and in this type of competition that was all they needed to count her off.”

Steve Moss, one of White Tiger’s MMA fighters had a rough fight as he lost his first match giving him 3rd place.
Jonathan Irvin placed 3rd in forms and 3rd in fighting.  Brittney Jirak placed 3rd in fighting and performed well
enough for 2nd place in forms.  LeAnna Setzkorn placed 2nd in creative forms.

“There was one other school from Kansas there and in this type of arena where you have schools from all over the
world, we did pretty good,” stated Shawn Love.  “It’s a lot of skill… it’s not like someone getting a lucky shot and
winning a belt in a cage, it is a lot of skill that these true warriors demonstrated this weekend.  They deserve
recognition for, not just representing Winfield, but the State of Kansas.”  “Fighting does not define you as a warrior,
it is how you live, and these competitors demonstrate warrior traits on a daily basis.  For they have to be able to fight
in a cage, a ring, and on the street, wherever they get attacked to defend themselves.”
